San Vicente City Council removed the title of adopted son Franco
The full Council of San Vicente del Raspeig today unanimously approved withdrawing the title of adopted son to Francisco Franco, which was granted by the municipality in 1940, as reported by local sources. EFE
This initiative was presented at the previous full Esquerra Unida (EU) and, after remaining for study, has finally gone ahead with the support of the three political groups represented municipal-PP, PSOE and EU-PSPV -. The three parties have agreed on a joint motion after the government team requested a legal reports advised to withdraw the nomination to comply with the law established in the Law of Historical Memory, added the sources said.
